Conventional shopping Vs Online Stores

CONVENTIONAL SHOPPING VS ONLINE STORES.....

There are so many rumours now a days about recession, hyper inflation, stores running out of business, unemployment and much more that I ha actually a truth.

Since IT took place, it has modified hundreds of thousands trends. These changing trends include almost every aspect of our daily life.

It seems like people are much more aware of the reality behind business. There was a time when majority of well off customers would go for nothing less than a brand or custom products. This complex in people made a lot of businesses prosper.

Shockingly, this complex started diminishing by the time as internet provided more and more information on variety and economical replacements for this brands.

A customer started understanding that why pay $99.99 for something that can be replaced for something available online for $12.25 with free shipping. It is also better in all aspects than the one available in the market.

Second emotional blackmailing point for businesses was patriotism, if customer buys a product made in the country then country prospers. It went all well until customer found it hard to afford it. With the loss of consumer purchasing capability the patriotism left behind too.

Third emotional blackmail is threat, frightening and safety. Yes, some customers buy this ideology and are willing to spend for that but again this could not prove as a religion for wide range of customers.

The sellers online have a huge deal of benefits against conventional sellers.

Online sellers do not have overheads like conventional sellers do, I.e. rent, utilities, employees and manpower, equipment, taxes, building and fixtures, plant and machinery, stationary, licences and certifications, running costs, initial costs, administrative department, warehouse and storages etc. So they can afford to sell for extremely lesser price than it could be available in conventional stores.

Companies are working hard to compete and fight this growing trend by replacing their suppliers from their own country of manufacture to the companies abroad, they invest in all means to reduce the Labour force by investing in expensive software's and robots so that they don't have to hire a lot of employees and they could increase their profit margins or at least compete with other providers. On the other hand when companies avoid hiring more employees and attempt to replace the Labour force with robots and software's then customers lose more on their purchasing power and this vicious cycle keeps going on. Until recession hits and government refuel and restore everything for another couple of years.

In order to cut the cost and compete companies have exceeded to dangerous point, where they hire people from abroad or when they open another company abroad to hire cheaper employees.

This is getting out of control because whoever wants to remain in business today, has to fight with other extremely cheap available prices. But again when companies send these local jobs outside the country, people lose jobs and try to find more cheaper and cheaper for survival. Again this forms a vicious cycle of destruction in which every negative element promotes the other negative element to grow more.

Companies know it well that in the cost of 20 employees in country will easily afford a company with 100 employees abroad then they do not hesitate.

For example, but in India, a call center employee is considered a rich well off who makes $250.00 per month. It does not matter if the employee there can't take days off or if they have to work 16 hours a day. Most of the entry level call center positions start from $50.00 a month. The security and personal information that is compromised with non trustworthy employees is a complete separate problem.

Teenagers working online from Asian countries can enjoy better life style than an American by working online making around $100.00 a month.

If one day government makes it a law on American companies to hire their own nationals for all jobs then a clerk might start making $25.00/hour due to the demand and supply rule. But it does not happen. This is the reason why the quality of jobs and quality of wages has clashed down like sand castle.

In order to survive, people might need to learn to change and adapt to the new changes that happen on continuous basis. Set rules through decades and centuries have modified.

Educational system, cultural jobs, preferences and life styles are rapidly changing than ever before. It is pushing the generations to the point to adapt to survive or stay out of the business of life.

The way processes going into automation and self operating, soon the companies will operate with least amount of workforce. Probably, one man would be seen running a company administrative and warehouse operations with just handful of helpers.

Is it possible that in near future each and every individual has to be a entrepreneur to survive. Are moving back to the same point in orbit where we started from, barter trade and self help trend. Would the medium of exchange, money, gold, silver, coins go valueless and worthless.

Challenges to convert the thought process process from job to start own business.

It feels great while working in a busy day at the job and day dreaming about starting your own business. Unfortunately, majority of us plan a lot about this but most of the times fail.

There are several causes and reasons that an individuals struggle to apply their wish in reality to own and run a business.

In fact, in the current system we are raised up and trained as dependants, on the other hand business requires some opposite trends, it requires leadership, independence, planning and action.

Starting from the schooling system, or brains trained to work as a dependant. If there is no school, there isn't education. This trend of dependency is injected in our brains from the very childhood. We see that that our parents, relatives, neighbors, friends and all others keep taking about getting a degree and then getting a good job. We grow up by learning this rat race all our lives.

The greatest loss we suffer through this learning from the system is that we always want some person or place to guide us. For education we need a school, for income we need a job.

Frankly, I myself suffered this dependence syndrome at extreme. Yes, I have worked 12 hour shifts six days a week for my employer, but when I decided to work on my own business, everything changed.

  1. Lack of self discipline
  2. Lack of confidence
  3. Distrust on hopes
  4. Struggle to follow the self made plans
  5. Lack of organization
  6. A lot of tardy days
  7. A lot of vacations
  8. Abnormal loss of focus
  9. Disappointment
  10. Failure

We are so used to immediate reward for the hours worked that we can't even work for ourselves without that immediate wage.

That's true, I expect wage for every hour I have worked as we get it while working for employers.

In your own business things change drastically. You have to establish from a scratch. You are supposed to work for free.

As I mentioned earlier, we are used to be at ease. No matter what kind of job you are in, when you begin at a new job, you are trained for daily tasks and then by the passing time you become expert. Then it's no brainer. You just have to show up at the job place and you keep making easy living from paycheck to paycheck. For showing up at a place and spending few hours on same tasks pay your rent, pay your bills and also done perks to bless you more ease from the benefits.

On the other hand, your own business requires continuous learning, changing, upgrading, planning and the ability to meet brutal competition in market. It is like that you have to dig a well to drink water everyday. It requires infinite time, intelligence, attention, research, knowledge and much more. Having said that, a lot of times after doing such things you don't seem to get reward also. Sometimes it does not pay for your bills and other daily expenses.

In my point of view, working at a job and working on your own business runs against each other in nature. We are trained to be dependant and be at ease. No offense but I see myself more as a slave while working for an employer, I sell my independence, my dignity, my time, my skills (if any) and my family pleasure for a small but regular income.

I feel great about youth today who is learning a different trend. I have met some young guys who are in their teen ages but they are smart enough to do a little side business online to earn for their games, ipads, tablets and other daily expenses by themselves. Thanks to internet who provided a new dimension to humanity.

When I started doing my own business, even I was not making a lot of fortune out of it but still I started hating my job at the same time. It's so different. When you start using your own brain for your business then the each minute spent at job starts harassing you. You realise that your employer is paying a little more than a scratch for your precious time. If you dedicate the energy and time for your own business, you could make a lot out of it.

Job vs business is like renting home vs owning.

When you rent a home or an apartment, it might look great, it might have so many amenities, furnishings and facilities. The only dark side of it is that whatever rent you are paying from your hard earned money is utilized and consumed for that specific period, I.e. a month.

On the other hand when you own a home, whatever you spend for home, goes towards the value and worth of your own asset. If you are paying mortgage, it's becoming your asset. It's not compromised or consumed, it's actually going towards your own future. As investment.

In a job we work for employer, we spend our lives working hard and hard to earn name and fame in the company but eventually all of the good name, future investment, business earning, getting wealthy things going towards the future of employer and their family. All you get is a small paycheck that again is consumed and compromised.

In the end there are insecurities, discouragement, dependability and you.

Please correct me if you think that I need corrections in my mindset. Feel free to comment, thanks.
