Challenges to convert the thought process process from job to start own business.

It feels great while working in a busy day at the job and day dreaming about starting your own business. Unfortunately, majority of us plan a lot about this but most of the times fail.

There are several causes and reasons that an individuals struggle to apply their wish in reality to own and run a business.

In fact, in the current system we are raised up and trained as dependants, on the other hand business requires some opposite trends, it requires leadership, independence, planning and action.

Starting from the schooling system, or brains trained to work as a dependant. If there is no school, there isn't education. This trend of dependency is injected in our brains from the very childhood. We see that that our parents, relatives, neighbors, friends and all others keep taking about getting a degree and then getting a good job. We grow up by learning this rat race all our lives.

The greatest loss we suffer through this learning from the system is that we always want some person or place to guide us. For education we need a school, for income we need a job.

Frankly, I myself suffered this dependence syndrome at extreme. Yes, I have worked 12 hour shifts six days a week for my employer, but when I decided to work on my own business, everything changed.

  1. Lack of self discipline
  2. Lack of confidence
  3. Distrust on hopes
  4. Struggle to follow the self made plans
  5. Lack of organization
  6. A lot of tardy days
  7. A lot of vacations
  8. Abnormal loss of focus
  9. Disappointment
  10. Failure

We are so used to immediate reward for the hours worked that we can't even work for ourselves without that immediate wage.

That's true, I expect wage for every hour I have worked as we get it while working for employers.

In your own business things change drastically. You have to establish from a scratch. You are supposed to work for free.

As I mentioned earlier, we are used to be at ease. No matter what kind of job you are in, when you begin at a new job, you are trained for daily tasks and then by the passing time you become expert. Then it's no brainer. You just have to show up at the job place and you keep making easy living from paycheck to paycheck. For showing up at a place and spending few hours on same tasks pay your rent, pay your bills and also done perks to bless you more ease from the benefits.

On the other hand, your own business requires continuous learning, changing, upgrading, planning and the ability to meet brutal competition in market. It is like that you have to dig a well to drink water everyday. It requires infinite time, intelligence, attention, research, knowledge and much more. Having said that, a lot of times after doing such things you don't seem to get reward also. Sometimes it does not pay for your bills and other daily expenses.

In my point of view, working at a job and working on your own business runs against each other in nature. We are trained to be dependant and be at ease. No offense but I see myself more as a slave while working for an employer, I sell my independence, my dignity, my time, my skills (if any) and my family pleasure for a small but regular income.

I feel great about youth today who is learning a different trend. I have met some young guys who are in their teen ages but they are smart enough to do a little side business online to earn for their games, ipads, tablets and other daily expenses by themselves. Thanks to internet who provided a new dimension to humanity.

When I started doing my own business, even I was not making a lot of fortune out of it but still I started hating my job at the same time. It's so different. When you start using your own brain for your business then the each minute spent at job starts harassing you. You realise that your employer is paying a little more than a scratch for your precious time. If you dedicate the energy and time for your own business, you could make a lot out of it.

Job vs business is like renting home vs owning.

When you rent a home or an apartment, it might look great, it might have so many amenities, furnishings and facilities. The only dark side of it is that whatever rent you are paying from your hard earned money is utilized and consumed for that specific period, I.e. a month.

On the other hand when you own a home, whatever you spend for home, goes towards the value and worth of your own asset. If you are paying mortgage, it's becoming your asset. It's not compromised or consumed, it's actually going towards your own future. As investment.

In a job we work for employer, we spend our lives working hard and hard to earn name and fame in the company but eventually all of the good name, future investment, business earning, getting wealthy things going towards the future of employer and their family. All you get is a small paycheck that again is consumed and compromised.

In the end there are insecurities, discouragement, dependability and you.

Please correct me if you think that I need corrections in my mindset. Feel free to comment, thanks.
